Monograph: 25 Years of Practice
To mark our anniversary, we are publishing an intimate monograph examining 40 commissions through original hand drawings, site photography, and 1:20 physical model studies.

Marking a quarter-century of architectural inquiry, Lars Müller Publishers announces the release of 'STONE & WARD: Measured Silence', the studio's definitive retrospective monograph. Spanning over 400 pages with full-cloth binding, the book documents our journey from early London workshop experiments to major European cultural commissions.
The volume opens with extensive essays by architectural theorists Kenneth Frampton and Juhani Pallasmaa, exploring the phenomenology of silence, tactile weight, and the poetics of light within our built work. Each selected project is presented through meticulous architectural drawings, 1:1 scale construction details, and hand-drafted tectonic diagrams.
Renowned architectural photographer Hélène Binet spent eighteen months documenting the studio's portfolio under shifting seasonal light. Her monochrome analog photographs reveal the delicate patina of weathered Portland stone, untreated European oak, and textured lime wash over years of human habitation.
Accompanied by an international travelling exhibition of physical plaster study models, 'Measured Silence' is available through select art and architecture bookshops worldwide and directly from our Clerkenwell studio archive.
