B-Corp Certified
We now meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. This reflects our commitment to using architecture and business as a force for good.

We are proud to announce that STONE & WARD has achieved B-Corporation certification, joining a global vanguard of businesses committed to rigorous social, environmental, and ethical standards. This certification formally validates the environmental ethos that has defined our practice since our founding in 2001.
Our practice operates under a comprehensive cradle-to-cradle material sourcing charter. We specify exclusively PEFC-certified structural timber, UK-quarried limestone, lime-based binders, and low-embodied-carbon aggregates. By systematically measuring whole-life carbon across all project phases, we ensure that every structure achieves a net-positive environmental contribution over its lifespan.
Internally, our B-Corp commitment encompasses transparent governance, equitable pay structures, mental health sabbaticals, and dedicated educational apprenticeships for aspiring architects from underrepresented backgrounds. We also allocate five percent of studio hours to pro-bono community spatial initiatives in London, Manchester, and Liverpool.
Architecture bears a profound civic responsibility to present and future generations. B-Corp certification is not a final destination, but an active framework that continuously challenges our studio to design with deeper ecological empathy, material integrity, and societal care.
